One Coast is proud to have been recognized in the Los Angeles Business Journal’s Nonprofit & Corporate Citizenship Awards: a celebration of exceptional work between the nonprofit community and supporting corporate businesses and citizens in Los Angeles. Named as a finalist in the “Outstanding Collaboration Between a Business and a Nonprofit” category, One Coast has been applauded for its philanthropic partnership with The Surfrider Foundation LA and its positive impact on nearby Sunset Beach.
One Coast’s meaningful and strategic partnership with The Surfrider Foundation consists of three major initiatives: The adoption of nearby Sunset Beach through The Surfrider Foundation; a philanthropic event to bring the community together and raise both money and awareness for the nonprofit; and monthly beach clean-up events at Sunset Beach.
To kick-off this partnership, One Coast tapped one of its real estate partners, Mauricio Umansky, CEO & Founder of The Agency, to help organize a philanthropic gala called “One Night at One Coast.” Designed to celebrate LA’s two great loves — California beaches and new ocean-view homes — the event benefited The Surfrider Foundation and marked our official adoption of nearby Sunset Beach.
“One Night at One Coast” brought hundreds of community members together for a rooftop live auction backdropped by Sunset Beach and featured items such as a custom-painted Jeff Ho surfboard, a luxury stay at La Quinta Resort and Club, dinner at The Draycott in Palisades Village and more. Beyond raising a total of $30,000 for The Surfrider Foundation Los Angeles ($5,000 more than our goal), the evening also connected a community of Los Angelenos who care about the beaches where they swim, surf, stroll and soak up the SoCal sunshine.
Weeks after the event, many of the attendees reunited for the first official beach clean-up at our adopted beach where they collected nearly 500 pounds of trash. We are thrilled to continue hosting beach clean-up events further in 2022 in an effort to keep LA’s beloved shoreline clean.
One Coast is honored to be included amongst so many exceptional leaders, teams and programs who continue to donate their time, funds and efforts to improve the communities they serve. Learn more about the Los Angeles Business Journal’s Nonprofit & Corporate Citizenship Awards here.
